McIntyre Boy Scout First Aid Team
McIntyre received its first Boy Scout
Charter in the mid-1920's.
This photo from the early 1930s shows the McIntyre Boy Scout
First-Aid Team. Each year they competed in the Mining First-Aid Competitions in
Indiana, Pennsylvania.
These teams had a practical application in towns such as McIntyre where mine
accidents were always a possibility. Note the row of company-built houses on the hill
and the ever present railroad cars on the right.
