Taxable Residents of Conemaugh Township, 1807

Young Township was formed from parts of Blacklick and Conemaugh Townships in 1830. Although many of the residents identified themselves as farmers, some of the other listed occupations are cooper, tailor, saddler, weaver, schoolmaster, and carpenter. Most of these early settlers were either immigrants from the British Isles or their descendants. Note the occupation listing of "widow" for several of the women. This is only a partial listing of taxable inhabitants for 1807.
