Although
this event took place during the Depression, formal
church weddings, such as this one, were not uncommon. The bride's elegant outfit
reflects the current fashions of the day. Wedding receptions were usually
held in either the Union Hall or at the home of the bride or groom's parents. A
number of McIntyre residents remember some wedding festivities lasting several
days.
