Boys' Boots
High-top
boots were popular in the early 1930s with school boys as seen in this class
photo taken outside the McIntyre school. However, not all families could afford
to purchase them for their children. Boys frequently carried knives in their
boots; however, they were used for whittling, to play a game called mumbly-peg,
or other nonaggressive activities.
