Aerial View of Tipple Complex

The infrastructure of the coal mining complex was evidenced in every part of the town. McIntyre grew up around tipples, railroad tracks, mine entrances, rock dumps, and other coal-related structures unlike model coal towns where residential areas were separated from work-related structures. This photo of the McIntyre tipple is from 1943.
