Class, 1944
Although the male students in this class were not
quite old enough to be drafted in 1944, in late 1942 local draft boards in Indiana
County were ordered to begin immediate inductions of eighteen and nineteen year
olds. In 1944, retesting of all men from eighteen to twenty-five, who had previously
been rejected because of educational deficiencies, was begun. The drafting of
fathers started in August of 1943. The photo was scanned in as is, with tear
and graffiti.
