Class, 1928
In Pennsylvania schools, in addition to the traditionally
observed holidays, there were three legally recognized special observance days:
Arbor and Bird Day, Pennsylvania Day, and Frances Willard Day.
Frances Willard, 1839-1898, was an educator, born in New York, who helped
establish the Women's Christian Temperance Union. Frances Willard Day was devoted
to the study of her life and principles.
