McIntyre Protestant Bible Study Class
According to a former resident,
McIntyre Protestants
complained to the Coal Company about the lack of a place in which to have Bible study
classes for children. The Coal Company responded by providing this one-story,
two-room structure. Since most of the
immigrants and their families were Roman Catholic there was no Protestant church in McIntyre.
Two different Presbyterian churches were located
several miles away in the town of Jacksonville. The photo is from about 1932.
