Telegram to
District 2 President from McIntyre Local Union 3548,
Concerning Deplorable
Working Conditions, March 31, 1941
The
telegram, to the president of District 2 of the United Mine Workers of America,
hints that, unless deplorable conditions improve, the mine workers may take
"drastic action." Ironically, this telegram was sent three months
before the June 30, 1941, mine explosion which killed 7 and injured 17 in a
McIntyre mine.
