A Mine Entrance
This particular McIntyre mine entrance was located just below the Catholic Church, the steeple of which is visible in the background. A duplex company-built home is to the left of the church. Some model mining towns were planned and developed around the concept of the separation of residences from the mines, the tipple, and other mining activities. However, as can be seen in this photo, McIntyre homes were not isolated or separated from the activity of mining operations. The date of the photo is unknown but it is probably from the 1940s.
