Letter From Coal Company to District 2 Union President
on the Financial Upkeep of Doctors' Offices, 1936
Medical care was very important to the mine
workers and complaints about it were frequently brought to the attention of the union.
The
Coal Company provided the miners and their families with a town doctor and provided the doctor with a
home/office. In this document, the vice-president of the Coal
Company outlines how much was spent on the upkeep of doctors' offices in
several company towns including McIntyre.
