This part of the town overlooked the downtown area of McIntyre. St. Gertrude's Roman Catholic Church and steeple can be seen in the center background. Some of the larger, more well-maintained homes were located on this hill and in the early years were occupied by middle managers of the Coal Company. This photo is from the 1940s.
